Melrose Station

Melrose, New Mexico, a place previously known as Brownhorn, is a small town with a large railroad station. The town was designated to be a major yard and shop location for the AT&SF railroad, back around 1906, but there wasn't enough water to sustain such a large operation, a fact discovered after the station was built. So everything, except the station, went to Clovis, a place previously known as Riley Switch. The station still sits along the Transcon in Melrose, watching the trains roll by.
